[Episode 41]
If you’re not seeing the results you want then you could be making one of these 5 Common Mistakes Using Positive Reinforcement.
In this episode of the Naughty Dog Podcast, I share the 5 Most Common Mistakes Made Using Positive Reinforcement Dog Training.
Positive reinforcement is a type of dog training that uses rewards (reinforcement) to encourage desired behaviors. This type of training is more humane than other methods, such as punishment or dominance-based training. Dogs that are properly trained with positive reinforcement will actually work harder for their rewards. This is because they are motivated to do something (sit, stay, come) in order to get something they like such as a treat or piece of food.
Positive reinforcement dog training can be used for a variety of behaviors, including obedience, housebreaking, reactivity, aggression and tricks. Positive reinforcement dog training is safe for all breeds, for puppies and adult dogs.
When done correctly, positive reinforcement is the most effective way to train your dog. If you’re not seeing the results you want then you could be making one of these common mistakes.
