“We LOVE Sherry!  Our dog Bernie has a couple of issues:  he’s reactive to other dogs while on leash, and he is a bit toy obsessed.  Luckily, Bernie LOVES Sherry and will do whatever she asks of him! We actually got to the point where we couldn’t even take Bernie on walks anymore, because he would bark at every single dog he saw.  In fact, there was a 13 month period where we did not go anywhere with him except to the dog park. We were pretty much at our wits’ end. Luckily, we found Sherry and she has taught Bernie to be a calm dog while he’s on leash and sees other dogs passing him.  It has been a complete turnaround for him! This was really hard for Bernie, but with Sherry’s calm, patient training, he has done awesome!! We continue to practice with him every time we’re on a walk.  

As for his toy obsession, Bernie would bark constantly until we threw his favorite toy for him.  Since we didn’t want him to bark and disturb others, we would throw the toy immediately, thus reinforcing this unwanted behavior:  bark loudly and I get what I want. Sherry showed us many alternatives, and Bernie accepted them all! The best one is that we can walk around for quite awhile with Bernie being quiet, then we reward him by throwing his toy!  Bernie brings it back to us, and we repeat. A nice calm quiet walk, then we throw the toy when we feel like it. Some of these things were tough for Bernie, but he has done really well and is improving daily!!

Sherry’s method of training is the best!  No yelling, no punishment. Just positive reinforcement and reward for completing whatever the task may be.  I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Sherry as a trainer. We love her and will continue to use her for all our pooches!!  Thank you Sherry!!!!”

“Definitely Five Stars!  Sherry is an excellent trainer of both dogs and people.  As pet owners, we need as much, if not more, training than our beloved dogs.  Sherry’s patience, her ability to listen and her own love of dogs come through at every level of her process.

Sherry has been invaluable in assisting Italian Greyhound Rescue by providing group training classes, one-on-one training and most recently, by fostering and training a Rescue dog. Without Sherry’s expertise, Dallas (a three year old male) had very little hope of being rehabilitated which meant he would not find a permanent home. He arrived in Rescue with severe fear-based issues which affected every part of his life.  He was afraid of being outside and even afraid to go to the bathroom. Sherry could see beyond his fears; she saw a sweet, gently loving soul. Within a few days it was clear that Dallas had put all of his trust and love into her; together they started the journey. He learned basic dog social skills, potty skills and even though he was still afraid he learned to go for a walk; he would do anything that Sherry asked him to do. In a few weeks, Dallas was a completely different dog. He enjoyed going for walks, meeting new people, new dogs and looked forward to any other “adventure” that Sherry shared with him.

As with every teacher/student relationship, Graduation Day arrived and Dallas won First Prize; he was adopted.  Thank you Sherry for making this Happy Ending a reality and not just a dream.”

“Sherry is a MUST. When I began researching dog training methods, I learned that the Karen Pryor “positive reinforcement” method is really what makes the most sense to me. Now, does that mean that it would work on my dog? The answer is a resounding YES, and I would not have gotten this far with my black lab had it not been for Sherry’s guidance and hands-on help. Puppy and I work with Sherry on a weekly basis, beginning when he was about 9 weeks old, and  Sherry not only works with the dog, but works with me to ensure that I know how to keep it all going. She has such a great, positive energy and knows so much about dogs and dog psychology and behavior. My Puppy is always so happy to see her, and so am I! Sherry has also been a support to me when there have been mini puppy emergencies (yes, they happen often!) and I have quick questions and I’m not sure who else to call or email. “Thank you Sherry for all the guidance in helping Lilly and I gain confidence around other dogs.

I have a 100 pound labrador that when on the leash turned into this ferocious dog. Lounging and barking at other dogs on our walks. It became fewer walks because of her behavior. We attended a 6 week course and by the conclusion Lilly was able to be on leash no chock chain and around other dogs with out any aggression.  Sherry’s training approach through positive reinforcement was simple, easy and truly amazing. We use her training tips daily which have given Lilly and I a new 

leash on life. We do two walks a day! This morning we were able to pass a dog that was showing aggression towards her and Lilly was able to focus on me instead of the barking dog. The transformation has been amazing. We can’t thank you enough.”
